"Life at the ICI" published

Over 120 people crowded into the Synthonia Club (where else?) in Billingham to see the book, catch up with old colleagues, and meet the project team. Many of our interviewees came to collect their copy, and local MP Frank Cook was on hand to add to the congratulations.

There were a few sad notes: four interviewees have died in the last year, and on the day illness struck both the representative from the National Lottery, and book editor Margaret Williamson, whose husband Graham attended to receive plaudits and flowers on her behalf.

Star of the show, Dr Kenneth Warne, our oldest interviewee, who is now 101, received his copy of the book from Denis Carroll, chair of the project, and spoke on behalf of all interviewees, thanking the team for all their hard work.

The local press picked up the story and we received good coverage in the newspapers, on Tyne Tees Television, and on Radio Tees.
